Lana Del Rey Praises Fans And Collaborators

On April 17, Del Rey took to Instagram to thank all of her fans for their support after her lauded performance. Under an album of photos and videos from Coachella and preparation of the set, Del Rey posted a long, heartfelt caption where she talked about the events leading up to Coachella.

“Thank you guys. For f—— everything. Jack and John and Billie for showing up for me—and the band for just killing it and spending months in Sylmar in a 40° warehouse to the point but it was so cold that I caught laryngitis that literally left just a few hours before I hit the stage because Tessa DiPietro spent two hours lifting that cough remotely through her body intuitive skills just minutes before showtime.”

Del Rey is referencing collaborators Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste, and Billie Eilish, who all made appearances during her Friday night show. Eilish popped in and surprised the Weekend One crowd with a rendition of “Ocean Eyes” and “Video Games.”

Singer Claims Former Manager Was ‘Butt Hurt’ Before Quitting

Del Rey continues in her post, “Wally Crowder for my bad a– bikes. Every stunning dancer on stage—and Alex for her beautiful choreography. My stunning three singers who danced and sang their asses off in style and high matching boots. Judah and Chelsea.”

In the same post, Del Rey pivots to thanking her tour manager, Emily Holt, for “stepping up as tour manager when Pete quit for no reason after 15 years because he was butt hurt that I got 10 comped bikes for free from Wally and randomly decided he was more of a stage designer than a tour manager.”

It’s unclear who Pete is, since Del Rey didn’t give his last name nor tag him in the post, but she’s clearly throwing shade at a former member of her team.

“Never got a phone call probably never will,” she continued. “Still grateful for the 15 years though. No worries – 37 days was more than enough time to put together an entire headlining set all by ourselves. Not stressful at all. Way to go.”

Clearly all the behind-the-scenes drama didn’t take away from Del Rey’s stellar performance. She dazzled the crowd with a set that lasted nearly two hours and spanned songs like “West Coast,” “Summertime Sadness,” “Born To Die,” and “Young and Beautiful.”

Del Rey had taken an extended hiatus from performing, returning in 2023 to headline the Mita Festival in Brazil last year before beginning a world tour.

“Emily, you f—— killed it with grace,” she said, again praising Holt, before moving on to other members of her team.

“Thank you to my managers Ben (Mawson) and Ed (Millett) for making me laugh the entire way through everything for my whole freaking life even though none of it ever makes any sense. PS please send me an email If you decide to quit this year. 15 years is a long time for us too.  Thank you to Cody (Osbourne)! Boss number two for always having my back and doing the most. Ric from Stufish, your set with references of the Barbican to bits of kintsugi dripping down the balconies and the same exact tiles as the tiles in the tunnel under Ocean Boulevard.”

Del Rey sparkled in Dolce and Gabbana dresses styled by Molly Dixon during her set, whom she also included in her praise.

“Molly Dixon, those dresses! Dolce & Gabbana for literally wrapping silk around my body for hours until I became a shimmering swimming pool. Etienne and Anna for somehow making my eyes change color on stage with witchy brush strokes of subtle peach make up and light old Hollywood hair, and Tracey Cunningham for changing my hair to the color of the desert like I wanted. And of course, Paul (Tollett) for inviting us.”

Del Rey concluded the post with a nod to her upcoming performance during Weekend Two of Coachella this weekend.

“It was fun. I’ll see you again real soon,” she told fans.

Coachella Weekend Two takes place April 19-21 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
