Zachary Quinto Called ‘Terrible Customer’ by Toronto Restaurant

Zachary Quinto has found himself in some hot water. The 47-year-old Star Trek actor was called out by a Toronto, Canada, restaurant for his alleged behavior during a recent visit.

On Sunday, the account for Toronto eatery Manita posted a message tagging Quinto in their Instagram Stories.

“Zachary Quinto – an amazing Spock, but a terrible customer,” the message began. “Yelled at our staff like an entitled child after he didn’t reply to two texts to inform him his table was ready and refused to believe the empty tables in the dining room weren’t available for him despite being politely informed they were spoken for.”

Manita went on to claim that Quinto “made our host cry and the rest of our brunch diners uncomfortable.”

The restaurant ended the message, writing, “Mr. Quinto, take your bad vibes somewhere else, we have many lovely celebrities join us at Manita but you are NOT one of them.”

ET has reached out to both Quinto and Manita for comment on the alleged incident.

Sunday was also Quinto’s 47th birthday. According to his Instagram Stories, Quinto rang in the special occasion at Canada’s Wonderland theme park, thanking the venue for “such an incredible birthday adventure.”

He posted pics with his Brilliant Minds co-stars, Tamberla Perry, Spence Moore II and Alex MacNicoll, at the park.

He also shared a photo of himself at a restaurant with a birthday dessert and candle, his eyes closed with a hand over his heart. It’s unclear whether the restaurant he’s in is Manita.

On Monday, Manita released more context for the alleged incident, writing, “This isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last time an irate guest has taken their frustrations out on our staff. Manita is deeply grateful for our mostly incredible, friendly, gracious guests… who may give us constructive feedback from time to time. To all the other Zachary Quintos out there, on behalf of restaurant workers everywhere: We aren’t above criticism, but we are above being demeaned.”

This isn’t the first time a celebrity has been called out for allegedly being rude to restaurant staff. Back in 2022, New York restaurateur Keith McNally of Balthazar publicly condemned British comedian James Corden for his behavior at the popular spot, calling him “extremely nasty” and “abusive” to the staff.

Corden apologized for the incident, which he later called “silly” in The New York Times
