Travis Kelce Had ‘FOMO’ Over This Major Moment Amid Super Bowl Prep

Even Super Bowl stars aren’t immune to a case of FOMO. As Travis Kelce continues to gear up for the big game, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end admits that he was struck by the fear of missing out on one recent adventure with his family.

On Thursday’s special Super Bowl LVIII preview episode of their New Heights podcast, Travis and brother Jason Kelce addressed the latter’s recent trip to Orlando, Florida, for the NFL Pro Bowl. During the visit, the Philadelphia Eagles center and his wife, Kylie Kelce, brought their three young daughters to experience the magic of Disney World along with his mom, Donna Kelce, and dad, Ed Kelce.

“Man, I’ll tell you what, I saw some of the videos,” Uncle Travis admits on the show. “A lot of FOMO man, a lot of FOMO. I missed out on that one.”

In a video shared by the NFL this week, Jason and Kylie can be seen toting their daughters — Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 2, and Bennett, 11 months — around the theme park, enjoying plenty of snacks and thrilling rides.

“Disney World was fun, we missed ya,” Jason tells Travis, confirming that the girls did get to spend some quality time with Frozen‘s Queen Elsa.

“There are some adorable videos I can’t wait to show ya,” Jason adds, eliciting a truly joyful “Yes! Aha!” from Travis.

Still, Jason keeps it real with his recap and confirms that a day at a Disney is hardly a walk in the park for any parent with young kids.

“There is no hack,” he says. “The dad hack is, have zero plans going in and just go with what the day is. Have like one or two things that you gotta hit, and outside of that, it’s a wild card. The kids are gonna be very unpredictable. Know where your exits are, know where your restrooms are, and just don’t count on anything going according to plan.”

As a seasoned dad of three, Jason adds, “As a dad, part of your job is to snatch them out of the temper tantrums with candy, fun, something, or discipline. It’s one of those three.”

At one point, Jason jokes that he distracted his girls with an impromptu game of hide and seek.

“You gotta have some strategies built in,” he shares, noting that the move even impressed his own dad.

“Dad was like, ‘Oh that was pretty cool what you did there,'” he shares with a laugh. “Learned from the best.”

Jason and Ed were all smiles in one video from the day, spinning the famous tea cups around with Ellie while Wyatt vehemently refused to participate.

“Wyatt still will not go on any rides,” Jason shares, calling her a “little scaredy cat.”

“I was like that, though,” Travis says. “I wasn’t big on rides when I was little. I actually, even through high school, was kinda like, ‘F**k roller coasters.'”

The revelation surprises Jason, who replies, “That’s weird because I always kinda thought Ellie matched your intensity — and kinda looks like you, if we’re being honest.”

Travis seems to agree, noting that he was also blond as a kid.

“She’s not afraid of rides at all,” Jason says of his middle child.

All three of his daughters were skeptical of Disney’s costumed characters, though.

“They’re still at the age when the characters are right up on them, they are terrified,” he says. “At about 10 foot, they are like on cloud nine, that is the coolest thing ever. Inside of 10 feet, they are like, ‘Daddy, pick me up and hold me right now.'”

But the most magical part of the day came at the end of the night, as the family watched fireworks at Magic Kingdom.

“It was the most fun I’ve seen them have, potentially in their entire lives,” Jason says of the experience.

“I love that,” Travis says. “That was the FOMO that I had. Missing out on that, seeing their smiles.”

No complaints from Travis, though, as he’s thrilled to have a shot at winning the first-ever Super Bowl in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday.

“Honestly, it makes me want to win it that much more,” he says of being in Sin City. “It makes me want to be on the right side of the history books and be able to say I won the first Vegas Super Bowl ever ’cause I think the NFL is gonna enjoy having this place as the home of the Super Bowl.”

Jason agrees, “Oh, I think this is the first of many. This place is built to host events like this.”

With a laugh, Jason also notes that “this is gonna be a blast for all the people enjoying this motherf**ker.”

This year marks Travis’ third Super Bowl appearance in five years, as the Chiefs hope to score back-to-back championships. The team has won the Lombardi Trophy twice already in the last five years, including in last year’s matchup against Jason and the Eagles.

“For me, it is not as much pressure as it’s just exciting for the challenge at hand,” Travis says of the game.

“I’ve been in a few of these big games and it’s just, they’re like no other game out there, man,” he continues. “There’s no other feeling than being on the field, making plays in the Super Bowl. There’s just no better feeling, man, than to go out there and find a way to win with your guys.”

Last weekend, Travis also had to skip the 66th GRAMMY Awards, where girlfriend Taylor Swift picked up a handful of top honors and shocked fans by announcing a new album. The pop songstress even made history as the first artist to win Album of the Year four times.

“She’s unbelievable. She’s re-writing the history books herself,” Travis told reporters during CBS Media Day at Allegiant Stadium this week. “I told her I’ll have to hold up my end of the bargain and come home with hardware, too.
