The actress is the daughter of the late media mogul Aaron Spelling, and she received only an $800,000 inheritance from her father’s $600m fortune when he passed away at 83 in 2006.

Spelling’s ex-husband at the time, Charlie Shanian, revealed to the DailyMail that she was deeply upset by the inheritance news, crying not over the money but over the implications of the will’s structure.

“She was crying and feeling upset, not about the money, but about what it meant,” Shanian said, adding that there was “real pain” in Spelling’s reaction.

Shanian further noted that Aaron’s hope “was that it would bring Tori closer to her mom because it would require a connection between them.”
