Prince Harry reportedly maintained his stance against Queen Camilla by refusing to be in the same room with her during his recent visit to his father, King Charles III, to discuss his cancer diagnosis.

The Duke of Sussex has previously disparaged his stepmother and even described her as “dangerous” and a “villain.”

Prince Harry flew into London from Los Angeles for ten hours to see his father, King Charles, after the recent news of his cancer diagnosis. Despite being on bad terms with Charles and his brother, Prince William, Harry took the ten-hour flight to talk with his father.

However, it was only a brief meeting, after which the Duke of Sussex flew back to California, where he lives with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two kids. According to The Telegraph‘s Petronella Wyatt, Harry refused to be in the same room with Queen Camilla during his visit.

She wrote, “Harry, I hear, preferred not to be in the same room with his stepmother when he spoke to the King about his cancer diagnosis.” Royal expert Robert Jobson also told The Sun that Harry’s meeting with the King was limited to 30 minutes to keep his stress levels down.

He said, “You don’t want his blood pressure going up. The King’s not very well, whatever type of cancer it is, he’s undergoing treatment. The best thing for him is calm. After the initial kiss and hug, love you dad, hope you get better soon, what issues are going to get raised? Things that will get your blood pressure rising.”

Harry has been open about his feelings toward Camilla for years. In his record-breaking memoir “Spare,” The duke alleged that she had severally leaked negative stories about the Royal Family to the British media to fix her image and reputation with them.

Harry wrote, “I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar.”

He also revealed that he and William had “begged” Charles not to marry Camilla because they saw her as a “wicked stepmother.”

In the same memoir, Harry described Camilla as a “dangerous” woman to the royal family. He wrote that she was actually a “villain” in disguise who “left bodies in the street” in her journey to repair the public perception of her as the other woman who ruined Charles and the late Princess Diana’s marriage.

After the release of the memoir and massive mixed reception, Harry had an interview with Anderson Cooper on CBS’ “60 Minutes” to discuss the revelations in his book.

He said, “She was a third person in their [my parents’] marriage, she needed to rehabilitate her image.”

The prince explained that Camilla was dangerous because of the connections she’d made with the British press. Harry claimed that these relationships had fostered an “open willingness on both sides to trade information” about other members of the royal family.

Harry added, “And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her on the way to being Queen Consort, there was gonna be people or bodies left in the street because of that.”

His statements on Camilla only drove a deeper wedge in his relationship with his father, Charles, who was especially “disappointed” at the negative depiction.

Harry’s recent visit to check on Charles comes as the King resumes plans to visit Australia with Camilla in October this year. While the cancer diagnosis has forced the monarch to pause many of his upcoming engagements, it seems that Charles is determined to make the trip.

The visit is supposed to happen around the same time as the Commonwealth heads of government meeting in Samoa. It was first confirmed in early January by Anthony Albanese, the prime Minister of Australia, and will be the first by a ruling monarch since Queen Elizabeth II’s visit in 2011.

A source spoke about the resumption of plans for the trip to The Telegraph. They said, “We continue planning, but we’re not at any stage to confirm timing or dates because it’s the first week of the King’s treatment. It certainly remains the case that he’s hopeful it will go ahead.”
