‘New York Times’ Under Fire For Joe Biden Opinion Piece On Debate

Following the 2024 presidential debate, The New York Times published an opinion piece suggesting Joe Biden should drop out of the race.

This comes after the current president fumbled and misspoke several times throughout Thursday’s debate, leaving many Americans worried about his age and whether he is stable enough to run the country.

However, the issue Americans are now having with The New York Times is the fact that they allegedly never mentioned Donald Trump should drop out, considering he is now a convicted felon.

‘The New York Times’ Faces Backlash For Stance On Joe Biden

“(Biden) struggled to explain what he would accomplish in a second term. He struggled to respond to Mr. Trump’s provocations,” the piece reads, in part. “He struggled to hold Mr. Trump accountable for his lies, his failures and his chilling plans. More than once, he struggled to make it to the end of a sentence.”

“The president’s performance cannot be written off as a bad night or blamed on a supposed cold, because it affirmed concerns that have been mounting for months or even years,” the author added. “Even when Mr. Biden tried to lay out his policy proposals, he stumbled. It cannot be outweighed by other public appearances because he has limited and carefully controlled his public appearances.”

After reading the opinion piece, several Americans took to social media to bash the publication because they allegedly never said Donald Trump should drop out after his conviction earlier this year.

‘The New York Times’ Ignores Donald Trump’s Crimes

United States President Donald J. Trump formally accepts the 2020 Republican presidential nomination

As The Blast reported, a jury found Donald Trump guilty of 34 counts related to falsifying business records surrounding a 2016 hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. While the publication released an opinion piece on Joe Biden and his age, they seemingly never released a piece on why Donald Trump should drop out, considering he is now a convicted felon.

The New York Times can f-ck off,” one X user wrote after reading the article.

“Dear New York Times editorial board, Did I miss your 2024 piece requesting Donald Trump drop out of the Presidential race after multiple convictions and multiple women saying he assaulted them or after January 6 or after dozens and dozens of other horrors?” another asked.

“Joe Biden has one subpar debate, and the New York Times calls for him to drop out,” a third said. “Donald Trump got convicted of 34 felonies, and the New York Times said nothing.”

Where Is The Donald Trump Opinion Piece?

Americans continued to ask why The New York Times allegedly never put out an opinion piece on why Donald Trump should drop out of the race following his conviction.

“Did the New York Times call on Trump to leave the race after he was convicted of 34 felonies? I don’t remember seeing that,” one X user said.

“The Times is running the same playbook against Biden that they did against Hillary in 2016,” another social media user wrote. “Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. The New York Times editors want Trump and they do not care what damage it does to the country.”

“I’m sad to know about the NYT. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and my parents loved the New York Times. Now they’re garbage and it’s a little sad,” another admitted.

Social Media Calls To Cancel ‘NYT’ Subscriptions

After seeing the Joe Biden opinion piece from the publication, many are begging Americans to cancel their subscriptions to the New York Times.

“Ah yes. The New York Times. Where a stutter is worse than 34 felony convictions,” one X user expressed. “Selling out democracy all because Biden wouldn’t do an interview with you. Pathetic.”

“If you hadn’t already canceled your subscriptions to the New York Times after learning that Maggie Haberman was Trump’s go-to person for fluff pieces on him,” another said. “Cancel it NOW because it’s clear they don’t care about our democracy.”

Did ‘The New York Times’ Ever Speak On Trump?

Trump Remarks at the White House Conference on American History

To be fair, the recent New York Times opinion piece did mention that Donald Trump is “dangerous” and “an erratic and self-interested figure unworthy of the public trust.”

“He lied brazenly and repeatedly about his own actions, his record as president and his opponent,” the author stated of Trump. “He described plans that would harm the American economy, undermine civil liberties and fray America’s relationships with other nations. He refused to promise that he would accept defeat, returning instead to the kind of rhetoric that incited the Jan. 6 attack on Congress.”

The New York Times has yet to comment.
