Speaking with Fox News’s Laura Ingraham during a town hall, Trump fielded a question about whether Melania would be seen more during campaign events ahead of the presidential election this year.

The billionaire tycoon responded to the inquiry, sharing that the ex-model will be “out a lot” with him because she supports his initiatives to improve the country.

“It’s funny; she was a very successful model, very, very successful, and yet she was a private person. She’s going to be out a lot. Not because she likes doing it, but she likes the results,” Trump remarked, per The Hill. “She wants to see this country really succeed. She loves the country.”

He also emphasized Melania’s love for privacy, citing an example of how she would rather he didn’t introduce her during public appearances.

“You know, a lot of first ladies would go out — they want to be everywhere. They get angry at their husband because he’s not introducing them,” Trump added. “If I didn’t introduce Melania, she’d be very happy about it. She’s just a different kind of a person.”

Some weeks ago, Trump allayed the fears of supporters who were worried about Melania’s absence from the campaign trail.

During an interview with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade, he shared that the mother of one would play a “big role” in his re-election campaign.

“She wants to make America great again, too. She’s gonna play, and she always did play a big role,” Trump said, per Newsweek.

The former president also claimed that he “would rely on her for advice,” adding that her involvement wouldn’t be a passive one.

Donald continued: “I think she’s going to be very active in the sense of being active, at the same time, I don’t want my family to be too active because they did such a great job last time.”

Following the interview, Melania was seen attending a campaign event at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, her first since the death of her mother, Amalija Knavs.

As the campaign for the presidential election continues to heat up, speculation has risen as to who would join Trump on the ballot as his VP, per Greenville News.

In their recent town hall event, Trump revealed a list of potential candidates, which included former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Florida representative Byron Donalds, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, Florida Gov. Ron Desantis, and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

However, while he described them all as “good” and “solid” people, he singled out Scott for added praise.

“He’s been such a great advocate,” Trump said of his fellow Republican politician, who dropped out of last year’s primary to endorse him.

He added, “I have to say this in a very positive way, Tim Scott. He has been much better for me than he was for himself. I watched his campaign, and he doesn’t like talking about himself. But boy does he talk about Trump…I called him, and I said, ‘Tim, you’re better for me than you were for yourself.’”

The former president has also spoken about his recent legal troubles while speaking at a Christian event, per The Sun.

He remarked, “I’m taking the bullets, taking the arrows, I’m taking them for you, and I’m so honored to take them. “I’m being indicted for you. I’m being indicted over and over and over.”

Trump then made light of the situation, comparing himself with the infamous Chicago gangster Al Capone.

“I’ve been indicted more than Al Capone, the great gangster. Scarface,” he added. “Think of it: I’ve been indicted more than some of the greatest criminals in the world for nothing.”

Among his many legal troubles, Trump was recently handed a fine of $355 million in a civil fraud case, among other punishments. A GoFundMe recently launched by MAGA supporters to help the former president offset the fine has surpassed $1 million.
